Located in Kuching, Sarawak, Fisherman Seafood has emerged as a bustling restaurant known for its spacious ambiance and extensive menu, catering to seafood lovers. Patrons highlight the vast variety of seafood options available, and most reviews jovially note the cleanliness and cozy dining area. A few dishes have garnered particularly positive mentions; the crab fried with egg is celebrated for its fresh and sweet meat, while the pineapple squid impresses with a delightful mix of spicy and sour flavors.
However, not all experiences meet expectations. Some diners found certain dishes, like the steamed prawn and yam basket, lacking in freshness and taste balance. While reviews reflect varying opinions on sweetness levels in the food, the portion sizes consistently receive praise, often enough to share among multiple diners at reasonable prices. Overall, Fisherman Seafood offers a charming blend of culinary delights, with ample room for improvement, making it an intriguing place for a casual seafood feast.

Reviews for Fisherman Seafood
Review highlights
Based on 316 reviewsFisherman Seafood is recognized for its spacious and clean dining environment located near Kuching airport, offering a wide variety of fresh seafood options at reasonable prices. Guests appreciate the generous portion sizes that can be shared, with standout dishes including crab and flavorful squid preparations. While most food items receive positive remarks for taste and freshness, some diners noted occasional inconsistencies, such as prawns that were perceived as less fresh or certain dishes being too sweet or salty for personal preferences. The restaurant’s attentive service and unique ambiance, complemented by traditional decor elements, contribute to a generally favorable dining experience despite a few minor feedback points.
Hidden restaurant. Big place with many tables. When we came, there's just plenty of people. The place is clean. There are many options of food with price stated in the menu. And you can choose fresh seafood there. The food was okay. Big portion for 5 of us. But for me, all food that we ordered tastes a bit sweet. I don't prefer sweet food. I might come again and try other menus. 5 person = RM 226 Food ordered as in photos that I shared.
Non-halal. Its has a spacious dining area. I was turned off with the yam basket as the yam was too salty to my taste. The black pepper was great. The area is cosy with extra parking behind. The pricing also reasonable. The most interesting is the display of dried puffer fish on string. Maybe its just for deco or maybe to ward of the evil spirit, i didn't ask. Overall it's a good experience.
The crab fried with egg is so tasty. The crab meat is fresh and sweet. Make sure u order 1kg for 2pcs only so that they r big enough. The fish belly soup is also good. However, the steam prawn is disappointing, frozen prawn which is not fresh. So, u better ask first before u order the prawn. The price is also reasonable to me
The place is very near to airport. The portion I order was the s size, midin was really good for RM15 and can be shared among 4 people. The butter prawn s size was RM30, easy to eat as they peel the shell, whereas the Pineapple squid was super flavourful (mix of spicy and sourness) only for RM20 size s. All the size s portion can be shared among 3 to 4 people. The drink each was RM6 however the cup size were quite big. Affordable and big portion of seafood.
Stumbled upon this place while searching alternative seafood restaurants in the area. The menu was huge and has quite a selection. The service was prompt. We placed our orders for curry squid, butter prawns, mani leaf, ginger venison, salted egg yolk crabs, and some pork satay (as they were put of the other meats). Overall, food was tasty and well prepared. The only thing that didn't quite hit the mark was the crabs. Not as fresh. Venison was a bit chewy. The highlights were the mani leaf, squid and satay.
